If you're looking for 'places to be found as an artist', Bluesky is popular* and as far as I can tell, Cara sees some use.
Other than that... Check out where other artists who publish similar works upload their content. Then create accounts in those places as well. That way, even if some of the other places are not to your liking, you will still have alternatives.
Oh, and I have literally not heard 'a single peep' about "PillowFort" ever since its inception. My theory: It's a mimic and it _eats_ people. ;)

Yes, I agree the internet was more lively back then because it wasn't centralized, it had a wild-west style quality to it. It's been sanitized and more conglomerates control a bigger piece of the pie, but that's a double-edged sword in my opinion.

I get it, but they should've banned it sooner. It feels like they were sitting on their hands while everyone was building up their companies and communities on borrowed time.
It also feels like some of these sites are dying. Realistically that's probably not the case, but this is the only place so far where I haven't felt like we were bleeding users.
